Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why
should I purchase a design from TattooFinder.com?
- Quality:
All designs sold on TattooFinder are by top artists from around
the world, and the best up & coming artists in the industry.
There is lots of free flash on the Internet, but in general, you
get what you pay for. Remember, you are selecting a design to
PERMANENTLY go on your body . . . you want the best! Much of the
artwork on TattooFinder.com is also sold as sets of tattoo flash
to tattoo studios on TattooFinder.com. This is the same top quality
artwork that you would find displayed on the walls of tattoo studios
worldwide. Unlike a tattoo studio however, the size of our collection
is not limited to wall space. Our goal is to provide more top
quality designs on TattooFinder.com than can be found anywhere.
- Ease
of finding a perfect design: TattooFinder.com features
the most advanced search engine on the Internet for finding tattoo
designs. We are constantly adding new designs. The gallery on
the site allows you to bookmark designs for your consideration,
or send them to your friends to get their opinions. TattooFinder.com
allows you to search by artist, color or black&gray designs,
the date a design was added, size and an intelligent keyword system
that automatically updates itself as searches are performed.
- All
artwork is tattooable: Some artwork is tattooable, some
is not. Skin is a living canvas that changes over time. A tattoo
artist may put something on your skin just to make the sale even
if it won't hold up over time. All designs on TattooFinder.com
have been evaluated by reputable tattoo artists to ensure that
they will work as a great tattoo design.
- Stencils
(line drawings): Most people aren't aware of what
stencils are used for. Stencils are what the tattoo artist will
use to transfer the outlines of the design to your skin. All artwork
on TattooFinder.com is sold with stencils. If you bring a design
into a studio without stencils, the tattoo artist will add the
time it takes to create them into the price of the tattoo. At
the end, buying a design on TattooFinder.com can actually save
you money on the price of your tattoo.
What
do I get when I purchase a design?
When you purchase
a design from TattooFinder.com, you can immediately go to the "My
Tattoos" section of the site and a link to your design
will ALWAYS be there for you to download, print out, and take to
a tattoo artist, share with friends, frame, or anything else you
want to do with it for personal use (you just can't resell the design). Nothing is shipped to you after your purchase. As soon as your order is complete you can access your design for as long as we are in business and/or your account remains active.
What
are stencils (line drawings) and why are they important?
With your purchase,
you also get the STENCILS (LINE DRAWINGS) for the design,
which the tattoo artist will use to create the actual tattoo on
your body. Many tattoo artists will actually charge more if you
bring in a design without stencils to pay for the time it takes
them to create them (though they may not tell you they are including
this in the price). Buying a design from TattooFinder.com can actually
SAVE YOU MONEY!
Other sites
sell designs WITHOUT the stencils, so you end up paying a
tattoo artist to create the stencils (at $80 - $150 per hour, that
can be EXPENSIVE!). Beware of "Smash and Grab" type deals
with one-time fees! Sure, you can get a hold of a lot of sub-quality
tattoo designs this way, but to get a design tattooed for life,
you will end up paying more because the tattooist has to create
the stencils!
Free flash
is free (of course) but really, you get what you pay for in quality.
Do you really want to put a design on your skin for life of a design
created by a second-rate artist just because the design is free?
Free flash also generally does NOT come with stencils (line drawings)
either.
TattooFinder.com
only sells TOP QUALITY tattoo designs by the best artists worldwide,
and all artwork includes stencils. This is the same quality artwork
that you might find in a tattoo studio, but TattooFinder.com is
the ENTIRE library of designs (not just what happens to be on a
studio wall), and getting that design is only a click away!
What
types of payment does TattooFinder.com accept?
Presently, TattooFinder.com
accepts MasterCard, VISA, and PayPal.
How
can I access designs I have purchased?
After you have
made a purchase, there will be a link to the "My
Tattoos" page from your purchase confirmation receipt.
You can also access the "My
Tattoos" section of the site at any time by clicking on
the "My Tattoos"
button in the main menu. Any purchases you have made will have links
to the designs at the bottom of the page in this section of the
site. Login is required.
What
rights do I have to the designs I have purchased?
You have the
right to use the design you purchased for your personal use. The
assumption is that you would get the design tattooed on your body,
but you can also print the design and put it on your wall, use it
for personal greeting cards . . . the only restriction is that you
can not resell the design. The copyrights to the designs are held
by TattooFinder.com and/or the original artists of the designs.
Reselling the designs would be in violation of U.S. and International
copyright law.
When
I purchase a design, can other people purchase it too?
Yes, just like
designs in the walls of tattoo studios, the designs are available
for use by all customers who purchase them. TattooFinder.com plans
to offer single purchase designs in the future, as well as custom
designs / artwork.
Can
I get a refund on a design purchase?
No, unfortunately
because of the nature of what TattooFinder.com is selling, there
is no way that we could be guaranteed that the design purchased
was not accessed and used after a sale. Therefore, all sales on
TattooFinder.com are final. Click here for our full refund / return policy.
Do
I have to join the site to make a purchase?
Yes. When you make
a purchase, an account will automatically be created for you if
you haven't created one previously.

How
do I find the designs I am looking for at TattooFinder.com?
There are several
ways to find designs on the TattooFinder.com website. You can type
in one or more keywords in the search field on the homepage, you
can go to the "Find
Tattoos" (Advanced
Search) section of the site for more search options, or you
can browse designs by any particular artist by clicking on an artist's
name on the Advanced
Search page. The TattooFinder.com Advanced
Search feature is the most sophisticated search engine on the
Internet to help you find your perfect design(s). They keyword search
feature actually tracks all terms people are searching on, and "learns"
how to better help people find tattoos the more it is used. If a
term is typed in that the database does not recognize, it tells
us that someone was looking for designs of that type so we can add
them to the site. The Advanced
Search feature also allows you to define your search by artists,
black & gray or color designs, sizes of designs, and by the
date designs were last added to the site. The default setting for
the search are set to provide the maximum number of designs, so
leaving those settings and only typing keywords will provide the
most returns.
How
can I view all designs by a particular artist on the site?
To browse through
all designs on the TattooFinder.com website by a particular artist,
go to the "Find
Tattoos " section of the site (Advanced
Search) and click on an artist's name. The results page will
list all designs on the site by that artist.
Can
I view larger pictures of the designs?
No. Obviously
theft of artwork is a potential problem for TattooFinder.com. We
provide the largest previews of the artwork that we feel we can
without allowing excessive opportunity for individuals to try and
"steal" artwork from the site. Designs that are purchased
will be displayed at their full size, without the copyright watermark
over the design.
What
is "My Gallery" and how do I create it?
"My
Gallery" is a very cool feature of the TattooFinder.com website
that allows you to "store" up to 12 designs that might
be of interest to you. You
must set up a TattooFinder.com account to create a Gallery, and
you must be logged on to the site to add designs.
As you search for designs
on the site, you can click on the "Gallery" button below
the large preview window on the left side of the search results
page. The design you are previewing will be placed into your Gallery
for you to consider and compare with other designs and/or share
with friends before you would make a purchase. Once you reach 12
designs in your Gallery, you will need to delete one or more designs
before others can be added.
Your
Gallery can always be accessed in the "My Tattoos" section
of the site, and will be stored up to three months from the date
of your last login at the TattooFinder.com site. You can also set
your account preferences to receive a friendly e-mail reminder when
your Gallery is about to expire, so you don't accidentally lose
any designs you wanted to keep there.
How
do I add items to and delete items from my shopping cart?
You can add
items to your cart for purchase in two ways. On the search results
page, click on the "BUY" button next to the design you
would like to purchase in the listings to the right, or click on
the "BUY" button below the large preview window on the
left. You can also add designs to your cart for purchase from your
Gallery in the "My Tattoos" section of the site. Simply
click on the "BUY" button below the design in your Gallery.
To remove items
from your cart, click on the "DELETE" button on the TattooFinder.com
Shopping Cart page.

can I send designs to friends for them to look at?
One of the great
features about the TattooFinder.com website is the ability to share
specific designs with your friends. Perhaps you want to get their
opinions on a particular design, or perhaps you found a design that
you think would be perfect for someone you know. When you are viewing
designs from the search results page, click on the "E-mail"
button below the large preview window on the left. A new browser
window will pop up. Simply fill in your friends name, your friends
e-mail address, your name, and your e-mail address, and click on
